INTRODUCTION

To talk about the begining of cars , we have to go back to the 18TH Century, with the first vehicles with steam machines. The next important date is 1885, when the first gas burning Vehicle appears .The history , keeps going with different technology milestones.

INVENTION PERIOD

Nicolas-joseph Cugnot, was a french mechanic , engineer, and writer. He did the most important step building a steam vehicle designed for war . The firs model was like a tricyle. It drove for the first time in Paris, in 1769 . He made a second model in 1770, it was bigger and stronger .With this second version , the first crash took place, it was because it was pratically impossible to drive that huge machine. The “car”crashed against a wall , and it fell down. Cugnot , had even got time to build another machine in 1771.

Until the next period , nothing very interesting happend from Cugnot, but Karl Benz , who built his first machine in 1885, started to produce it in 1888. ,but as I said that was the only important thing of the first period.

 

Veteran period

In 1909 began the mass producion of cars . The first countries were France and the U.S. The first trademarks were Peugeot and Panhard et Levassor. Henry Ford began producing vehicles in 1908 , with the most modern techniques ever seen.

Classic period

After the Laton period , when nothing changed, came the classic period , where were built the first cars of classic trademarks such as Austin and the Austin 7 or Bugatti and the type 35. After that , came the before and after war period, where many diferent trademarks appeared for the first time , such as Ferrari , Dodge or Mini.

And the last period , the modern one when the most important cars appeared like vw Golf or Jeep Grand Cherokee.

But the history , doesn ´t end here , nowadays this young history keeps writing itself with cars like Ford GT or the aston Martin DBS, wich by the way , it is my favourite car. And to end my Project I must talk about the Bugatti Veyron , wich is the most powerfull car ever made (except F1 cars , but that´s another story ), it has the amazing figure of 1600 horse power, (that´s Fast ) .

Any way ,I hope you like this project about the (at least for me ) most useful machines that Men have ever made, and the best thing of all is that they are so much fun.
