Ponte Vecchio, is the oldest bridge in Florence. It has got a lot of padlocks that represent the love between two persons. If you close the padlock with a key you must throw it to the river. The padlocks must have a message related to love. With this act you seal your love.

Since people do that, this place has become a representative monument of Florence and it is a place that receives a lot of tourists from all over the world. This action has become famous recently, thanks to the popular books of Federico Moccia ‘’Three Metres above the Sky’’ and ‘’I feel like having you’’

That custom has been extended to many bridges all over the world. Millions of people from many countries put padlocks in their bridges.
In Zaragoza many couples find a new way to show their feelings.
In fact this fashion fad started in Rome in the Milvio Bridge.
Now there are webs in which you can put your virtual padlock, in case you can’t visit an Italian bridge.
